Position Summary
This position works under minimal supervision and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects from commencement to completion. Accountable for developing and building strong teams for each project while delivering quality output, meeting customer expectations, managing to scope, delivering on time, and delivering within budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Emphasis in Plumbing
- Responsible for all financial reporting, tracking and projection of all labor, material, job expense, and changes for each project assigned.
- Assume primary leadership responsibilities for each assigned project.
- Manage all financial aspects of contracts (costs, billings, and collection) to maintain profitability goals and positive cash flow while simultaneously maintaining a good relationship with the client.
- Manage risks Investigate potentially serious situations to circumvent problems or promptly implement corrective measures as required.
- Actively pursue additional work through change orders.
- Ensure project document controls are in compliance with contract requirements and CEC standards.
- Attends job progress meetings as required. Develop and maintain viable long-term relationship with customers, consultants, general contractors, and subcontractors.
- Drive division profitability through effective project execution.
- Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports and supervise indirect reports.
- Ensure schedule requirements are met for all projects. Readily adjust priorities and milestones based upon changing customer needs, resource availability, and job requirements.
- Interact with the customer to validate expectations are understood and met before, during and after project completion.
- Develop and lead project management technical and schedule goals, procurement and contractual requirements, personnel assignments, and capacity planning.
- Monthly financial projections for each project assigned.
- Schedule and track material releases. Coordinate with GC, project schedule, and Superintendent as needed.
- Weekly jobsite visits and attend all jobsite meetings as required.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.
Education and Experience
- BSME, Construction Management or prior Project Management experience preferred, high school diploma required.
- 5+ years of extensive experience/knowledge of mechanical contracting, constructing design, finance, and management.
Required Skill, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge of Plumbing systems, PVF, and plumbing terminology
- Strong project management skills including documentation, cost control, procurement, scheduling, change order pricing, negotiating skills.
- Superior communication and intrapersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and assist in winning projects. Field experience coordination with construction management.
- Proficient in Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
- Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take offs, change orders, and contracts.
- Field experience effectively coordinating with construction management.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Exceptional analytical, motivational, and leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of safety procedures and true believer in safety.
- Current and valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest), as needed.
Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
