The Building Engineer/HVAC Mechanic is responsible for the safe and energy efficient operation of all building systems in the facility. These duties include but are not limited to the installation, repair and maintenance of facility equipment. Including utility services, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and electronic equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform and document Preventive Maintenance tasks and associated repairs
- Perform daily tours as required and report on deficiencies of equipment and systems
- Update equipment inventory log to maintain accurate and current database
- Identify proactive/corrective work to manage potential threats, improve facility operations and enhance tenant comfort.
- Ensure that company performance standards are consistently maintained in the required time frame
- Maintain building and equipment logs and utility usage data
- Provide material and equipment for scheduled work and preventive maintenance tasks
- Understand and adhere to all company policies and guidelines
- Must be available to respond to emergency after hours calls as needed
- Must be able to take direction and work independently
- Responsible for minimizing energy and water consumption throughout facility
Skills, Education and Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent, additional technical training preferred
- Must have Universal Certification for refrigerant handling in accordance with EPA Rule 608, additional HVAC and electrical training desirable.
- 3 years of recent verifiable experience in a Commercial or Government office building
- Must have knowledge and experience in all areas of facility operations and maintenance
- Advanced electrical skills desired and plumbing skills
- Advanced knowledge of Building Automation Systems, Siemens Apogee Desigo
- Proven leadership skills
- Data Center experience a plus
Physical Demands:
- Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and hear
- Employees are frequently required reach with hands and arms, and occasionally required to climb stairs and ladders
- Must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and the risk of electrical shock
- Noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud

Pay: $35.47 - $38.97 per hour
