Overview:
This position oversees the company fleet assets containing vehicles, equipment, trailers, and heavy machinery for Sunset Heating and Cooling. Oversees utilization of assets, coordinating maintenance and repair, manages and follows through all insurance claims. Other responsibilities include maintaining fleet expenses according to annual operating budget, providing operational support to technicians and leadership, sending out regular fleet reporting. The Fleet Manager maintains daily contact with the business to provide exceptional support through professional verbal and written communication.
Job Responsibilities:
- Actively manage fleet volume levels, communicating with Operations Leadership, Fleet Leadership and the Fleet Management Company constantly to ensure levels are in line with hiring and replacement needs while maintaining an appropriate fleet utilization
- Coordinate and ensure all pre-rollout vehicle preparation is done timely and to company specifications (graphics, shelving, telematics, etc.)
- Coordinate and ensure vehicles reaching end-of-life cycle are arranged for pick up in a timely manner to be sold off
- Submit and manage all Auto Liability Claims in coordination with Fleet Management Company and Insurance provider, maintaining claim status and seeing claim close out.
- Ensure all vehicles are current with documents such as telematics device, registration, insurance, and inspections.
- Manage and ensure all fleet assets are being regularly maintained through preventative maintenance programs and processes
- Create and maintain strong relationships with outside automotive vendors for upfitting, graphics, repair shops, body repair shops, and other vendor types.
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting on driver telematic performance, past due vehicle maintenances, recall information, and related safety data
- Ensure driving lists, MVR reporting, insurance eligibility, and related data processing is performed timely and accurate
- Responsible for maintaining fleet expenses within or under annual fleet budget
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid US Driver's License with satisfactory driving record
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a professional office environment
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience working with vendors, managing teams with and without direct authority, developing and analyzing reports, and optimizing broad use processes required
- 2+ years’ experience managing fleet vehicles strongly preferred
- 3+ years’ experience automotive and repair strongly preferred
- Prior insurance claim experience strongly preferred
- Office 365 experience including strong excel skills strongly preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Proven track record developing, implementing and utilizing processes and procedures
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Strong Interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills
- Ability to effectively manage conflict
- Ability to effectively implement change
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated skills or knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis skills
