Position: Commercial HVAC Installer
The focus of this position is Commercial HVAC Installer
Install and Retrofit the following types of HVAC systems
- Ductwork
- Air Handlers
- VAVs
- ERV/DOAS
- RTU’s
- Exhaust fans
- Evap coolers
- Ductless Split
- Commercial Kitchen HVAC
- Relief hoods
- Mitsubishi VRF
- Daikin VRF
- Furnace/AC
- 24V controls
- Basic Electrical understanding
Main job responsibilities
- All Operations on a job site
- Manage installation quality. Including daily schedule & tasks.
- Ensure quality control to plan and spec
- Manage productivity and efficiency of the team and job
- Make sure all team members have the material they need to do their job
- Install duct, refrigeration, flue, equipment, and all mechanical systems
- Ductwork “take off” if necessary
- Order duct and material for job
- Attending sub-contractor meetings on site to coordinate with general contractor
Required tools
- Duct Hand tools (Pouches, Snips, Seamers, channel locs, crescent wrench, pliers, wire crimper, flash light, tape measure, nut drivers, wire strippers, needle nose, socket set, screw drivers, dikes, pipe wrench, allen set, level, pipe cutters, hammer, etc)
- Power hand tools (Drill, Sawsall, bandsaw, hammer drill, power cords etc)
- Torches for refrigerant pipe soldering, zoomlock, Gauges, scale, pump, nitrogen gauge, scale, Flare took, pipe reamer, torque wrench, etc. Any tool necesssarry to complete job. Many tools company provided.

- Work with with guys on your team

- Have a good understanding and relationship with the Salmon HVAC shop
- Learn well from others and listen to their perspectives
- Train others on your team
Vehicle and job safety
- Required to have drivers license

- Scissor lift operation certification
- Forklift operation certification
Maintain company/job information
- Android phone or iPhone required
- Electronic timekeeping - clock in and out at the job on your phone
- Access construction documents electronically on company dropbox
- Use project management software, “ClickUp”, for coordinating with Salmon HVAC team

PROJECT MANAGER:
- Design

- Equipment procurement
- Vendor selection/quotes
- Submittals
- Finalize scope and plan
- Pricing Change Orders with foreman
- Project billing
- O&M’s
- Warranty Form
- Oversee division - Multiple jobs at once
- Generate RFI’s and change orders
- Ensure that material is ordered, purchase, shipped and delivered in budget
- Maintain plan changes with foreman
- Materials responsible to order and deliver include: Duct, hardware, air accessories (grills, flex, louvers, etc), controls, refrigeration supplies, etc.
- Scheduling cranes and lifts and other specialty tool/rental equipment
- Scheduling subcontractors, including: Controls, Test and Balance, etc
- Equipment startup - insure it is done properly (self performed or subbed out)
- Scheduling inspections
- Manage manpower to be efficient, safe, quality, and in accordance with project needs.
- Ensure and help the team to get the tools, technology, and training to be the best in the state.
- Help to hire/recruit new team members
- Ensure and help the team to be safe
- Coordinate truck needs
- Maintain and coordinate team schedule and maintain accurate time keeping (T-Sheets). Review and approve timesheets.
- Maintain all of the above and any other project information in Dropbox, Asana, google sheets and other company software.
- Coordinate warranty calls (1 year warranties on our projects)
- Work closely with the project manager to coordinate these operations.
FOREMAN:
- Material list
- Duct take off and order
- Make sure installers have what material they need
- Install per plan and spec
- Teach others to install
- Manage guys on site: line out daily, make sure guys are on time, make sure guys are productive
- Coordinate with general contractor: communicate with superintendent regularly, attend GC meetings
INSTALLER:
- Organize materials
- Install ductwork, refrigeration, equipment, etc
- Clean up
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
