HVAC INSTALLATION DEPARTMENT PROJECT MANAGER
Location: Newton, MA, 02460
The Project Manager is responsible for the preparation and daily coordination of the various elements and resources needed to effectively complete multiple HVAC Installation jobs. Activities may include any or all of the following major elements: design, estimating, coordination of KNA staff and subcontractors, contact with various municipal authorities for permitting and inspections, job-site supervision, troubleshooting, customer communication, and quality control. A percentage of the Project Manager’s time is expected to be billable to the projects s/he is coordinating.
Job Requirements
- Able to work in person out of the Newton, MA office location.
- 5-10 years of HVAC installation experience, mix of residential and light commercial
- Maintain current knowledge of all building code requirements effecting projects
- High level knowledge with duct sizing and installation, heat pump (Mitsubishi preferably) installation, hydronic heating/cooling systems pipe installation, and high efficiency with boiler installation
- Able to simply and clearly explain complex technical considerations with home owners and general contractors alike
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, contracts, manufacturer’s specifications and other documents as needed to fully carry out all installation functions.
- Background in or basic knowledge of project management
- Valid Massachusetts driving license in good standing.
- Ability to legibly produce all required paperwork and recordkeeping.
- Ability to speak and understand English.
- Ability to simply and clearly explain complex technical considerations (including Code and Municipal requirements) to non-technical people both verbally and in writing.
- Neat, clean, courteous and professional behavior and appearance at all times.
- Expert knowledge of and capacity to work in Windows and OS operating systems as well as MS Office or equivalent software. Willing and ability to learn and use other software used by KNA and its clients.
- Capacity to build relationships internally and externally with an ability to quickly establish credibility with colleagues, clients, and other professionals.
- Proven ability to seek and utilize input from others.
