GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Facility Technician HVAC – Mechanical Services will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the HVAC and Refrigeration systems for event and facility operations at Raymond James Stadium to provide a superior experience to the guests of Raymond James Stadium.
In addition, the Facility Technician HVAC – Mechanical Services shall follow the Authority operational policies and procedures designed to promote efficiency of operation, quality of service and a safe work environment.
POSITION REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Director – Facility Services
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Sr. Facility Technician in repairs and maintenance activities as required related to the repair, preventative maintenance, calibration, testing, modification and troubleshooting at the component level on heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration, life safety and BMS control systems and equipment.
- Installs, maintains, repairs, schedules, and operates mechanical, refrigeration, BAS control systems and equipment. Investigates and troubleshoots issues and reports findings to Sr. Facility Technician.
3. Assists other departments in repairs and maintenance activities as required related to plumbing, fire monitoring systems, emergency generators, and low voltage control systems.
4. Provide standby and onsite event support services related to BMS schedules, special requests, and event tracking.
5. Under supervision of the Sr. Facility Technician, coordinates work with HVAC, BMS and mechanical service contractors, to include, but not limited to, energy management, preventative maintenance, environmental agencies, and construction.
6. Conduct regular scheduled facility inspections to review facility, mechanical systems, building automation system, energy management system and life safety systems. Shares findings and observations with Sr. Facility Technician and departmental managers or coordinators to assist in maintaining a superior level of facility function, polish and efficiency, and review and recommend equipment, supplies and materials required to provide services to Authority and their clients.
7. Assist in the departmental participation in the automated preventive maintenance program; ensure department compliance and maintenance of equipment/systems database.
8. Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings to share relevant information and gain feedback relating to methods to improve service to customers, both internal and external, and to ensure efficient operations of the facilities for events. Attendance and/or travel may be required for meetings held off site.
9. Keep abreast of innovations, improvements in procedures, and developments within the operational aspects of our industry to seek better methods to improve efficiency, levels of service, personnel performance, and reducing operating costs.
10. Assists in providing a safe environment free of harassment for department employees and ensure compliance with all Authority policies, applicable OSHA standards and local, state, and federal laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
11. Create and code requisitions as required. Follow all appropriate purchasing procedures accurately.
12. Use computer/technology to enter and retrieve information and prepare reports as required. Assist in maintaining facility HVAC – Mechanical Services department filing system and records to ensure that all facilities department equipment and supplies are accurately maintained.
13. Perform other duties, functions, special projects, and responsibilities, as assigned.

- The Facility Technician HVAC – Mechanical Services shall be knowledgeable in all administrative and operational rules, procedures, and programs of the operations department.
- Position requires wiliness to be in an on-call status and ability to work irregular schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; the performance of work assignments may not be related to job specifications. Adjustments of shifts, overtime, breaks, etc. may be required upon short notice.
- Ability to diagnose HVAC equipment issues using laptop and hand-held devices. Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
- Ability to work independently to complete daily tasks with direction from Sr. Facility Technician.
- Position requires ability to interact with fellow employees, clients, the general public and outside vendors in a courteous, cooperative, and professional manner.
- Maintain a high public image, positive attitude and demeanor when performing a service for customers and the general public in the facilities.
- Ability to monitor work activities of all contract vendor services required.
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to motivate others.
- Knowledge of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and the ability to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
- Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to work in high places. Ability to lift over 50 lbs. and work in non-conditioned environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate mechanical and powered maintenance equipment including forklifts, high-lifts, and scissor lifts.
- Thorough knowledge of building HVAC and mechanical systems operation and maintenance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum High School graduate or equivalent GED with completion of an accredited two (2) year technical education program. Work experience in operation, maintenance, and repairs of HVAC and mechanical systems may serve as substitute on the basis of two (2) years’ experience for one 1 year of technical school.
- Three (3) years of experience in operation, maintenance, and repairs of HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of operation, maintenance, and repairs of HVAC and mechanical systems maintenance and repairs derived from a large public venue.
- Must obtain a universal EPA certification within twelve (12) months of start and maintain at all times.
- General knowledge of computer systems.
