FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN - NATURAL GAS
Job Title: Field Technician (Full-Time, Oklahoma)
Position Summary: PLEASE DON'T APPLY UNLESS YOU HAVE AT LEAST 5 YEARS FIELD EXPERIENCE REPAIRING NG EQUIPMENT. The successful candidate will perform essential maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on natural gas engines and compressors to ensure optimal system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a range of maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks on various natural gas engines and compressors.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot compressor system failures at all levels and work to optimize compression equipment performance.
- Adhere to company and client policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
- Continuously improve technical skills in alignment with industry advancements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and work independently when necessary.
- Maintain a professional and polished image at all times.
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in compressor and engine maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of surface production equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic and mechanical control issues.
- Familiarity with various diagnostic tools and ownership of a complete set of hand tools, as specified by company standards.
- Availability for short and long-term travel assignments.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including on-call duties.
- Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
- Willing to attend required training sessions and seminars.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use computers as diagnostic tools.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Formal vocational training is preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in engine and compressor maintenance.
- Experience with Caterpillar and Waukesha engines.
- Familiarity with Ariel, GE, and other gas compressors is preferred.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- CAT training is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting of heavy object up to 70 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Ability to work in both hot and cold environments for extended periods.
