NOW HIRING!!! Maintenance Technician Supervisor needed for family-owned business and manufacturing company located in Skokie, IL. We are seeking a strong preventative maintenance Supervisor with Warehouse Maintenance Mechanic experience to help guide their 2nd shift maintenance technicians to achieve their daily responsibilities, repair and perform maintenance fixtures on various warehouse machinery. This position is a direct hire opportunity, payrate based on prior experience, education/or certification. All maintenance technicians are welcomed to apply. Company is seeking full-time, maintenance mechanics with at least 3-5 years of experienced preferred. Electrical background a plus.

We need candidates with electrical experience and food manufacturing. All candidates will need to submit an updated resume, interview and meet necessary requirements for this open position:
- Leads teams of Maintenance Mechanics in predictive & preventative maintenance and machine repair.
- Responsible for the development, implementation and day to day supervision of maintenance systems, processes and documentation associated with efficient and High Performing Manufacturing Organizations (Prevention and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, SOP’s, Safety, etc.).
- Ensures maintenance is scheduled in a timely manner and works closely with Production and maintenance planner to schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs.
- Develops and/or maintains Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting the performance of the maintenance function (supplier performance, 3rd party contractor performance, equipment reliability, downtime, OEE, etc.)
- Provides long term solutions and day-to-day support to all operating teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc.
- Trains employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
- Ensures tasks are completed in accordance with GMP policies and procedures.
- Maintains accurate records of maintenance work performed and inventory.
- Provides regular status reports to maintenance management team.
- Bachelors degree preferred, certificate or diploma from trade school in related field
- 3+ years' experience in food production environment, preferably in the candy / confection industry
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Ability to set priorities and juggle multiple projects despite interruptions and changing priorities
- May be required to work weekends and during plant shutdowns
- Working knowledge of the following:
- Programmable Logic Controls
- Working knowledge of basic and high voltage electrical systems
- Experience with reading electrical blue prints
- Mechanical Systems
- Compressed air system and components
- HVAC and Boilers
- 5+ years' experience in the maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility
Position Summary: Maintenance Mechanic position requires strong professional leadership level experience, excellent preventative machine mechanical repair experience and communication skills. Directs maintenance crews in the installation, repair and preventive maintenance of equipment used throughout the plant, facilities, and utility equipment. Oversees maintenance of processes to reduce mechanical downtime and keep product flows and production lines running at maximum efficiency. This includes physical demands during work hours, but is NOT limited to the following:
- Perform highly diversified maintenance repairs on manufacturing machinery, electrical repairs, compressors systems/or other warehouse machinery
- Provides leadership and guidance to employees in the Maintenance Department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.
- Office and plant setting. The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
