For over 14 years, A One Heating, Air Conditioning, and Plumbing has been a trusted name in residential HVAC solutions in the DMV area. As we continue to expand, we are looking for an experienced Lead HVAC Installer who can run an installation crew, complete jobs efficiently from demo to system startup, and troubleshoot common installation issues on the spot.

What You’ll Do as a Primary Installer:
✔ Run a 3-Person Crew – You, a secondary technician, and an apprentice.
✔ Take Ownership from Start to Finish – From demolition to full system startup.
✔ Troubleshoot and Solve Issues During Startup, Including:
- Low-voltage wiring problems – Miswiring thermostats, control boards, safeties.
- Refrigerant charging issues – Superheat/subcooling, under/overcharging, leaks.
- Airflow imbalances – Static pressure, duct restrictions, improper sizing.
- Drainage problems – Clogged drain lines, improper pitch, water backups.
- Electrical startup failures – Breaker trips, popped fuses, improper wiring.
✔ Install and Commission a Variety of HVAC Systems, Including:
- Gas furnaces, split heat pumps, central split air conditioning units, ductless mini-splits, air handlers, and residential boilers.
✔ Teach and Mentor the Apprentice On-Site – Help develop their skills as you work.
✔ Ensure Code Compliance and High-Quality Workmanship – Attention to detail matters.
✔ Communicate with Customers – Ensure homeowners understand their new system.
What We’re Looking For:
✅ 7-10+ years of residential HVAC installation experience (lead installer experience preferred).
✅ Ability to troubleshoot startup issues quickly and independently.
✅ Proficiency in low-voltage wiring, refrigerant charging (R-410A & R-454A), and system diagnostics.
✅ Strong leadership skills – You’ll be guiding a crew and teaching on the job.
✅ Confidence in reading blueprints, wiring schematics, and following manufacturer specs.
✅ High standards for workmanship, safety, and efficiency.
✅ Own basic hand tools (company provides major tools & vehicle).
✅ EPA CFC Certification, Journeyman HVAC, Journeyman Gas Fitter; NATE Certification is a plus.
