There are mainly 3 types of companies where Service Plumber jobs can be found.
Small shops - One or two truck "Mom & Pop" companies whose owners may be wonderful people, but often lacks the professional setting to give you the ability to make great money, receive freedom from the daily frustrations of disorganization, and empowering career path. Massive shops – These 100+ truck companies have sold out to multi state consolidators and are run by accountant type administrators who are clueless about the trades. They treat you poorly like just another number, use tactics like turning over ten-year-old equipment leads to unscrupulous salesmen, and no one goes home till all the calls are cleared and of course, the dreaded “on-call” nonsense. There is little to no career path or ongoing training, they insist you stay in your truck and keep earning. You can make decent money but at what cost?
