Job Opportunity: VRF HVAC Technician – Austin & San Antonio, TX
INFINITEK is partnering with a leader in the commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing industries to find an experienced VRF HVAC Technician to join their teams in Austin or San Antonio. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician who has hands-on experience working with tonnage VRF systems (25+ tons) and wants to grow professionally, technically, and financially.
Key Responsibilities of VRF HVAC Technician:
- Install, Set Up, and Commission VRF Systems: Install and commission VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems, including indoor and outdoor units, refrigerant piping, and associated components.
- System Installation: Install ducting, refrigerant lines, and control wiring, ensuring all installations comply with design specifications and building codes.
- Routine Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance and troubleshoot VRF HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Component Inspections and Repairs: Inspect, clean, and replace key system components like filters, coils, fans, and refrigerant lines.
- Diagnose and Repair: Identify and repair issues with refrigerant levels, compressor functionality, and other essential components of VRF systems, focusing on tonnage systems (25+ tons).
Requirements for VRF HVAC Technician:
- Proven VRF Experience: Significant hands-on experience with VRF systems, particularly with 25+ ton units, including air conditioning and heating systems.
- Certifications: Must possess TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) and EPA certifications.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong ability to troubleshoot complex HVAC systems and equipment, including refrigerant issues, compressors, and controls.
- Relevant Skills: Solid understanding of air conditioning systems, appliance repair, and boiler operation.
- Driver's License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Customer Service Focus: Strong communication skills and a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
- Team Player: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in varying work environments.
- Relevant Certifications: Additional certifications in HVAC or related fields are a plus but not mandatory.
