Jacobs Entertainment is currently in search of a “Operations Maintenance Technician”for Greater Cleveland Aquarium. Greater Cleveland Aquarium energizes curiosity for aquatic-life and the environment with up-close encounters, education programs and themed galleries that take guests around the world. Located along the Cuyahoga River in the historic FirstEnergy Powerhouse, industrial brick architecture is juxtaposed with imaginative fresh and saltwater habitats. It is the only freestanding aquarium in Ohio.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Preforms preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs to varied mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
- Complete tasks including electrical, general carpentry, painting, general fabrication, plumbing, HVAC, and construction
- Reviews and becomes familiar with the technical aspects of all systems within the Aquarium
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on bathroom fixtures, including sinks, toilets, urinals, and faucets
- Responsible for the completion of all Operations work orders as assigned
- Prioritize emergency repairs on equipment and facilities
- Systematically problem solve, troubleshoot, and resolve breakdown issues with various facility systems and equipment
- Assist in maintaining equipment maintenance records as required
- Track inventory, order and pick up parts, materials and supplies as necessary and in accordance with budgetary guidelines
- Ensure proper care in the use and upkeep of equipment and supplies
- Install and adjust lighting fixtures and replace bulbs and drivers as needed
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on door hardware
- Maintains clean and orderly work areas involving general cleaning duties
- Assists in the continuing development and implementation of preventative maintenance and green initiatives program for all facilities
Skills, Education and Other Requirements:
- High school diploma is required, with vocational school or technical training is preferred
- Minimum of two years of equivalent experience in facility and equipment maintenance
- Requires a working knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements for the work being performed
- Must have general maintenance experience, general knowledge in carpentry, HVAC, light electrical and plumbing preferred
- Demonstrates ability to use hand and power tools and other equipment
- Ability to organize, manage time and set and shift priorities while meeting deadlines
- Average computer skills, with proficiency with Microsoft Office
- General knowledge of mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as directed
- Able to work in both a team environment and independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to read, interpret and process information from blueprints, plans, and technical manuals
- Ability to communicate both verbal and written with management, staff, and vendors
- Able to climb ladders, stairs, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, and lift/move up to 75lbs
