We are a National firm serving fortune 500 clients in our 19th year seeking Test & Balance field team members. a2b accurate air balancing, llc. is an NEBB certified TAB entity, and wholly owned subsidiary of e2s. Applicants can be entry level to experienced, Certified Technician, and Certified Professional for Testing, Adjusting and Balancing commercial HVAC air and hydronic systems. The role will perform system balancing as a TAB Technician and we also cross train all members for knowledge depth and the ability to assist our commission team. Successful experienced candidates will hold their NEBB or AABC certifications, and entry level candidates will be trained and allowed to gain proficiency to obtain certification. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and certification level.
Ideal candidate location is in Massachusetts, and we are open to candidates from New England states.

Job Responsibilities:
- This job requires travel – estimated travel days are Monday-Friday (home weekends) for two consecutive weeks, with the goal of every third week of work being from your home office
- To actively participating in the company’s NEBB TAB Technician Training Program to ensure all required NEBB and company standards and practices are maintained. A technician’s continuing education requirements help maintain knowledge of industry changes, grow their knowledge base, and better support the company and a diverse client base.
- Inspect systems to verify compliance with installation plans and specifications and to detect potential or existing malfunctions in system components
- Adjust systems to meet the design airflow and waterflow rates
- Testing the performance of air and hydronic systems, using tools and specialized (company provided) test equipment, such as a Pitot tube, Manometer, Anemometer, Tachometer, Psychrometer, and Thermometer, to isolate problems and determine necessary adjustments
- Discuss system operations with clients and contractors to verify that malfunctions have been corrected
- Investigate system and operational deficiencies to determine corrective actions and best performance
- Read and interpret project mechanical drawings, specifications, and equipment performance data to determine proper balancing techniques approaches
- Prepare each project by conducting a system review and assembling the required electronic test forms for documentation purposes
- Maintain proper documentation of daily activities using project specific reporting procedures. All Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing performed and any deficiencies and issues discovered are to be addressed fully using clear verbiage and accompanied with supporting documentation (as required)
- The use of ladders and electronic lifts are required to complete the task of Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing of air and hydronic systems. All employees must possess the ability to safely exercise ladder and lift usage, as well as obtain certification in lift operation.
- Timely and accurate submissions in our cloud based time and expense systems
Project access requirements:
- Ability to pass background checks by the federal, state, or local governments, or private companies, as required by clients
- Ability to engage with confidential work or clients professionally
- Ability to pass random drug testing
Knowledge:
- Basic mathematical proficiency is a necessity for completing equations associated with Air and Hydronic balancing
- Continuously seek education to become capable of successfully performing assigned tasks independently
- Review and understand the design intent of the systems associated with a project prior to project commencement
- Ability to review and understand mechanical, plumbing, control schematics, and other documents associated with projects
- Ability to read and understand the statement of work (SOW) for each project
- Ability to read and understand sequence of operation (SOO) for the systems within each project
- The ability to learn, understand, and successfully incorporate the procedures for Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing systems as required by NEBB (National Environmental Balancing Bureau) based on the Testing, Adjusting, Balancing Manual for Technicians
- Ability to understand and analyze mechanical HVAC systems for determining issues and determining basic recommendations for issue resolution(s)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, move, and carry equipment (up to 50 pounds)
- Regular and safe use of step ladders
Educational/Experience requirements:
- High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent
- Proficient Microsoft Software knowledge: Excel, Word, & Outlook
- One-year experience in the TAB industry (preferred but not required), or one year in the HVAC industry
- TAB Certification from NEBB or AABC (preferred for experienced applicant but not required)

Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
