GM Job Description:
The scope of a General Manager is to provide infrastructure for the establishment, support staff members, and ensure a seamless and positive guest experience. General Managers not only make decisions for the business, but also serve as support to anything and everything applicable under the umbrella of the business. As the leader of the business, it is expected that the General Manager is a role model and coach for the employees as well as a prominent representative for the brand to guests, employees, and vendors alike. Health of the business is of utmost importance.
Service and Execution
- Ensure smooth and seamless operation of the business from a customer perspective
- Placing product orders
- Uphold vendor expectations and agreements
- Ensure cost goals are managed and achieved through all revenue classes
- Ensure labor goals are met in both FOH and BOH
- Manage restaurant/bar ambiance including music, lighting, thermostat, TVs, seasonal decorations, etc.
- Cultivate the guest experience through service, product, and environment
- Work with other members of leadership to ensure a healthy business and team
- Overseeing and managing reservation and event planning and execution
Staffing
- Responsible for the hiring, onboarding, terminating, and management of the staff
- All shifts are adequately staffed and covered to provide exemplary service
- Ensure staff abides by company policy
- Train and/or delegate training to an appropriate party to cultivate staff
- Adequately and promptly document disciplinary action
Miscellaneous
- Hold an adequate understanding of the POS system
- Keep an accurate employee roster in payroll, scheduling, and POS systems
- Hold an adequate understanding of liquor laws and regulations
- Hold an adequate understanding of Health Department laws and regulations
- Utilize prompt communication and strategy to ensure the business operates smoothly and maintenance projects are completed in a timely fashion
Pay and Benefits
- Annual salary of $75,000-$90,000
- Health benefits at a 50% match rate available upon one month of employment
- 10 days of paid vacation annually
