Clackamas County’s Facilities Management Division is looking for a skilled individual with HVAC maintenance experience to join our team as an HVAC Maintenance Specialist.
As an HVAC Maintenance Specialist, you will perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, carpentry, and other building systems. You will help ensure the smooth operation of heating, ventilating, and cooling systems, including water boilers and mechanical systems. This role includes inspecting equipment, identifying maintenance needs, documenting conditions, and ensuring safe working environments. You will also collaborate with contractors, monitor their work, and maintain inventory records.

You have at least two years of HVAC experience, including diagnosing system issues and performing cost-effective maintenance or repairs. Your expertise spans beyond HVAC systems, including minor electrical work and general building maintenance. Dependability is key in this role, as you occasionally provide after-hours emergency response.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
- A minimum of two (2) years of related experience performing HVAC work including inspecting and diagnosing system and equipment operating problems
- Ability to perform after hours emergency response on a call-out basis
Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
- Licenses/ Certification:
- Certification as an Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Building Inspector for Asbestos
- Associate Degree in HVAC Maintenance and Repair and/ or Building Systems Technology Certificate
- EPA Universal HVAC Technician Certification EPA Clean Air Section 608
- EPA HFC-410A Handling, Use and Recovery Certification
Pre-Employment Requirements:

Post-Employment Requirements:
- State of Oregon DEQ/OSHA approved Class III Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) Worker course/training certificate within six (6) months of hire
- CPR/AED/ 1st Aid within six (6) months of hire
