Position Overview:
As the Senior Department Manager in our Tampa facility, you will support the entire production process as a manufacturing generalist ensure a safe, productive and efficient working environment while driving continuous improvements in order to meet company objectives. Essential to this position is a demonstrated leadership capability to champion change in a highly dynamic environment, promote a positive team atmosphere, and sustain a continuous improvement culture. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Tampa Operations and will serve as a member of the plant’s senior management team.
Critical Success Criteria:
- Ensure individual/team actions and behaviors are in alignment with and in support of company vision, values and culture by demonstrating safety and environmental leadership and by modeling the behavior we want to see in others
- Drive continuous improvement in operational discipline, processing control, and cost effectiveness, so that the plant meets the overall growth and profitability objectives of the company
- Proactively monitor productions systems to identify and resolve potential issues
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine safety audits with special emphasis on Life Critical Safety Rules, hygiene and mobile equipment
- Ensure continuous improvement in asset availability, performance and production quality by using OEE driven methodologies
- Ensure environmental standards are monitored and critical alarms are promptly addressed
- Support with other functional groups such as maintenance, process engineering, capital engineering and applied technology with project development and execution
- Promote and facilitate integrated communication within production and between the production areas and other departments
- Ensure standard work processes are documented and followed. Coach and mentor plant personnel toward performance improvement.
- Provide leadership to all departments to close any gaps in coverage
- Drive a quality-focused mindset across the facility, ensuring the voice of the customer is heard
- Ensure safety and housekeeping standards are being met consistently
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by management
- Utilize PDCA and root cause methodologies to drive continuous improvement in plant performance
- Work with department managers to leverage the CMMS system for operator equipment related tasks
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Management, or related field from an accredited College or University
- 5+ years of previous people leadership experience within a manufacturing setting
- Previous work experience with utilizing Operational Excellence methodologies and tools (TPM, Lean, 6 Sigma, RCA, etc.)
- Technical proficiency with MS Office applications and manufacturing systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous work experience with managing both direct and indirect reports in a manufacturing environment setting preferred, but not required
- Previous work experience with successfully driving significant improvements in change management role preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to wear a full-face respirator mask directly against skin (shaving requirement) with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness and ability to work in a hot/high temperature production facility as needed and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas with or without reasonable accommodation
Compensation Information:
Salary Range: $123,185.44 to $203,128.99.This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan which is determined by the achievement of strategic objectives. The market rate for the role is typically at the midpoint of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as candidate qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
