Duties of an HVAC Mechanic
ATI is seeking a highly motivated, qualified, and experienced HVAC Mechanic with a TOP SECRET clearance. Position required to maintain and repair HVAC equipment throughout a new facility located in Springfield, Virginia. Duties may include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Adding refrigerant to or removing refrigerant from equipment;
- Installing and troubleshooting heating and cooling systems;
- Cutting, welding, soldering, and assembling pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures;
- Replacing component and parts (pumps, pipes, fans, etc.);
- Using power and hand tools safely to support the facilities;
- Maintaining air and water treatment systems;
- Inspecting refrigerant systems for leaks;
- Reading blueprints & schematics, utility plans, mechanical drawings, and electrical and wiring diagrams; and
- Entering data into a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Required Qualifications for an HVAC Mechanic
- Minimum TOP SECRET Clearance required - additional security clearance investigation upon hire may also be required;
- Journeyman HVAC or Master HVAC license;
- EPA Universal certification;
- High school diploma or equivalent; and
- Must demonstrate proficiency and familiarity with state and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to HVAC.
