Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations within our facility - 3-shift operation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. This role is crucial in ensuring that all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards, promoting safety, efficiency, and productivity.
Duties
- Manage and lead the maintenance team to ensure effective operation and maintenance of all equipment and facilities.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Oversee project management for maintenance-related projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Utilize schematics and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment.
- Operate with a “safety first” mindset prioritizing the maintenance and operations teams’ safety, including but, not limited to, proper PPE, training and awareness of hazards, etc.
- Ensure the maintenance team achieves their allocated work priorities to meet Safety, Quality and Delivery (Production) requirements, thus minimizing production down time.
- Willing and able to work with the team on equipment, as needed, to support, lead and train.
- Identify and procure (with Purchasing support) materials and stock to ensure part availability for machine PMs and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, generate reports, and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Train, motivate and monitor the performance of maintenance personnel to ensure fully acceptable standards and maximum flexibility and cover for production shifts working.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Manage and resolve day-to-day issues, escalating issues to Plant Manager (as applicable) and keeping plant leadership informed of issues likely to have an impact on manufacturing output or engineering resource.
- Manage shortcomings in attendance and performance and take appropriated agreed action within the Company’s procedures.
- Work to continuously improve uptime and processes by modifying PMs and recommending process improvements with Quality, Engineering and Operations.
- Effective organization, administration and supervision of a group of maintenance employees with Safety as the priority.
- Work generated mainly by production maintenance/breakdown priorities or by work allocated by superior. Situations assessed and agreed by Plant Manager
- Recommends spare parts and tools to purchase to ensure minimal downtime
- Organizes direct reports to meet priorities to ensure flexible coverage for shift operations.
- Allocates work and priorities of maintenance personnel, checking quality and output
- Assists in selection of personnel, trains new starters, motivates and monitors performance to ensure acceptable work standards.
- Recommends appropriate actions in the event of less than satisfactory performance..
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field
- Electro-mechanical skills and the ability to apply experience flexibly.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of compound plastics manufacturing processes and equipment (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
- Proven experience in maintenance management or a similar role within an industrial setting.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC, and industrial maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics related to mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting issues.
- Experience in fabricating parts or components is a plus.
- A commitment to safety standards and continuous improvement in maintenance processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
