Responsibilities include:
· Managing team of technicians (averaging 8) and coordinating with our dispatcher
· Oversight of techs adhering to company policies and procedures
· Rapid assistance to techs in field for troubleshooting & application of procedures
· Communication with office admin team for conflict resolution
· Scheduling repairs and overseeing communication briefings with clients
· Ordering parts, managing warranty procedures
· Maintaining service parts inventory
· Managing service fleet vehicle maintenance scheduling
· Maintaining the company standard of quality in service and communication
· Communicating with sales for system leads resulting from service calls
· Promptly addressing and resolving issues with clients and technicians
· Oversight and scheduling of technician’s time off requests
· Performance reviews and disciplinary meetings
· Weekly to bi-weekly service meeting for a variety of topics
· Invoice & estimate review for questions, complaints, adjustments, clarification, discounts, corrections, etc.
· Occassional pick up & delivery as needed
· Be proficient, or learn, Service Titan operating software
· 15 years field experience as a technician required.
· 5 years as manager required
· Emergency scenarios requiring after hours or weekend field/office procedures
Established residential and light commercial HVAC company of 28 years looking for an experienced service manager. This is largely an administrative role requiring little fieldwork. A service manager should be the hub of support for the technicians in the field where patience and an exceptional ability to communicate is vital to work through a problem towards a solution. A service manager must be efficient in managing multiple facets of hvac related procedures so as not to create a backlog of unfinished details. This will range from ordering parts, communicating with the dispatcher for return trips, keeping clients updated, warranty specific details, monitoring a technician’s performance, reducing wasted time and unproductive trips as well as common administrative duties with which an experienced service manager would already be familiar.
