Position Overview: As an apprentice technician on our team, you will be in the field with our experienced technicians/ mechanics to be their helper. While assisting them, they mentor and train you on everything you need to know from how to service, install, and maintain commercialheating and cooling systems, to how to provide exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and motivated to further their career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist HVAC Mechanic and/or Sheet Metal Technician in installing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems on commercial and private properties
- Take and follow instructions regarding collection and acquisition of tools and equipment
- Measure and prepare the materials required for HVAC installations
- Check for problems such as leaks and malfunctions
- Install air and water filters on various HVAC equipment
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of ducts and ducting systems
- Ensure proper delivery and removal of equipment from client sites
- Pick up and deliver parts approved and required for job
- Take time every day to clean job site and truck
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of hand tools
- Must be willing to participate in continuing education classes as needed to acquire the following certifications and licenses: New Hampshire State Gas License, Massachusetts Sheet Metal License – Apprentice, EPA & OSHA Certification
- Must hold a valid state driver’s license and have a clean driving record
- Ability to lift greater than 50lbs and work from heights
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
