Mechatronic Engineer

Maxitrol Company, headquartered in Southfield, Michigan is an international leader in the design and manufacture of gas modulation systems, pressure regulators, combination control valves including electronic controls. We have a diverse customer base with our products supporting a variety of industries including HVAC, Heat processing, Commercial Cooking and Engine Power Generation. We are currently seeking motivated individuals pursuing a career in the field of Engineering/Design.

The Mechatronic Engineer will support our Research and Development Team at Maxitrol Headquarters in Southfield, MI. The Mechatronic Engineer will assume ownership of projects throughout their life cycle, from concept through testing and evaluation. Projects will range in scope and may include the following: new products, current product development and production processes and equipment.

Responsibilities:

- Complete new 3D designs (parts/assemblies) and associated 2D technical drawings using SolidWorks design software.

- Maintain documentation with a high level of accuracy and organization.

- Participate in design reviews to ensure requirements are met and projects are moving forward.

- Conduct performance testing of prototype designs.

- Prepare test data for review using MS Excel.

- Collaborate with Test and Electrical Engineers throughout project development processes.

- Implement firmware into real-time electro-mechanical systems.

- Develop and execute component-level testing to verify products and processes meet requirements.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.

- A working knowledge of C/C++ coding is helpful.

- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).

- Strong communication skills.

- Self-motivated and able to work independently.

- Experienced with MSOffice (Excel/Word).

- Practical hands-on experience.

- Knowledge of machining/manufacturing methods is preferred.
