Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Academic and Financial Data Accountability, the Director of Buildings & Grounds (B&G) is responsible for the overall management, operations and programs of Buildings and Grounds to ensure efficient operations and to provide for the safety, health and comfort of student, staff and the public within all District 65 facilities.

Education Required:

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university - major field of study emphasis: Facility management, project management, construction management, or related area preferred
Successful completion of supplemental courses, accredited training programs, or any other licenses/certificates in facilities, management and/or energy management systems.

Experience Required:

Job related experience within a specialized field with a minimum of five years of increasing levels of responsibility in two more of the following activities: grounds, facilities maintenance, and construction.
Experience above should include a minimum of three years lead/supervisory experience
Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the operations and maintenance of school facilities.
Experience working effectively with architects, construction managers, engineers, and contractors in all phases of construction or remodeling projects.
Knowledge of building management systems including HVAC and fire alarm systems/controls.
Experience with planning, coordinating and implementing District Master Facility Planning.
