Job Summary:
The Plumber will perform journeyman level duties related to commercial facilities such as pipelaying; repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures; sewer and drainage systems; etc.
Pay Rate: $33.50 - $36.00 per hour
Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00pm - 10:30pm
Essential Job Functions:
- Repair, inspect, and maintain plumbing systems in a commercial building
- Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems and respond to work order tickets
- Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications
- Unloading and carrying materials to the jobsite
- Assisting with the installation of pipe and fittings for copper, cast iron, and PVC/CPVC pipes, and for drain, sewer, and gas lines
- Utilizing hand tools and cutters to cut pipe to desired lengths and electric and hand threaders to thread pipe
- Installing fittings and components above and inground
- Locates and diagnoses trouble in the plumbing systems or equipment
- Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation and steps taken to resolve issues for each job or situation
- Repair plumbing issues by replacing or installing components
- Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor
- Answer emergency calls quickly, assess the safety of the situation upon first arriving at the scene and provide directions to individuals affected
- Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good condition and can operate or be used safely; report any issues to immediate supervisor Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Journeyman Plumber License in the State of Texas (TLDR)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3-5 years progressive, hands-on plumbing experience in a commercial or industrial setting
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to communicate with a variety of coworkers and government stakeholders
- Knowledge of computers and basic computer applications
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
- Ability to effectively complete tasks in a team setting or independently
- Ability to effectively utilize resources to maximize productivity

Working Environment:
Work takes place in a commercial facility with indoor/ outdoor exposure. Employee may be exposed to loud noises due to machinery or equipment.
