Summary: The Canvas Installer is responsible for installing canvas on completed boats to the specifications of the order within required tack time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for reading and interpreting complex drawings of bow measurements and dimensions.
· Responsible for maintaining records of new and completed orders
· Ability to understand and comprehend schedules and orders
· Responsible for cleanness of boat during installation process
· Use proper cleaning agents in correct areas of boat
· Notifies Quality Assurance Tech of flaws when recognized
· Performs housekeeping and other job-related duties assigned by supervisor
· Frequently handles and ensures that cleanliness and orderliness standards are met throughout the plant. This means doing the work him/herself whenever necessary
· Responsible for learning installation tools
· Safe use of drivers, drills, snap tool, measuring tape
· Responsible for performing “First Fits” in assembly
· Responsible for installation of connector sides, drop curtains and AFT curtains.
· Responsible for locating and installation of hardware

· Proficient in the use of scissors, electric shears, and snips.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Safety Glasses are required when working on plant floor.
· Chemical Gloves when working with chemicals such as resin, gelcoat, Mekp, etc.
· Typical 10 hour work day Monday-Thursday, frequent overtime required.
