Description:
Phoenix Systems is growing and we are looking for a low-voltage installation technician to join our amazing team in South Carolina. This position will be based out of Charleston, SC division and will support business in greater Georgetown, Myrtle Beach, Charleston and surrounding areas.
Candidates should be self-motivated, personable and of good character. You should be passionate about the installation of residential smart home automation systems, home theater rooms, security, networking, shades, and all about providing world class service to our high-end clients.
Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret floor plans and place wiring at appropriate locations
- Identify cable types and uses for low voltage cables (Cat5, Cat6, RG6U, 16/2, 16/4, 22/2, 22/4, etc.) and identify the termination type used
- Run wiring in home run, daisy chain, or other wiring topology and identify what style to utilize for a given application
- Update and provide accurate digital pictures of work in work management software
- Update and provide accurate paperwork and notes on job status and completion
- Install wall plates, terminate cable ends, trim low voltage panels neatly, follow work orders, install and program security system according to company programming sheets
- Install and test other basic systems sold and installed by the company including Speakers, Volume Controls, Intercom Systems, WAP’s, etc.
- Handle moves and additional as required after drywall with retrofit skills
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Understanding of material types used in residential construction and standards for drilling/running low voltage wiring
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.
- Ability to work in a clean and unobtrusive manner
- Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities.
- Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening
- Clear MVR required
- Technical or Vocational related schooling is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear.
- Frequent use of step ladders and extension ladders
- Frequent amount of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
Work Environment:
- Active construction sites
- Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust.
