Job Description for the Combo I&R Technician
The Combo I&R Technician (Copper/Fiber) position is in North Carolina and is full-time. The primary function is to install DSL internet services, providing world class quality, and product education for residential and commercial customers. We are the prime in this market.

- Keep a sharp axe
- Installation, maintenance, and repairing of Fiber and/or Copper systems for residential and commercial customers.
- Ensuring adequate performance of internet, phone and if applicable, television services
- Complete pre-install work order and post-install service verification and customer education to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Place aerial or buried Fiber and/or Copper drop wire and install interior/exterior wiring.
- Observe all safety rules and OSHA regulations.
- Able to work at heights by using/setting up various types of ladders.
- Able to work in tight spaces.
- Teamwork - Assist other technicians in the performance of their duties when requested.
- Must convey a positive and professional appearance and demeanor when communicating the company’s products and services to our customers.
- Have an ability to adapt to new processes and new information frequently.
- Use internal systems for work order notation and time keeping.
- Maintain minimum acceptable metrics with Repeats, Productivity, NPS and Completions.
- MUST HAVE ONX-580 or HST-3000 and all REQUIRED tools.
- Fiber optic internet and home phone service experience with knowledge of Copper plant and premise wiring.
- Must have own truck, van, or SUV with a ladder rack.
- Able to lift up to 80lbs unassisted.
- Android smartphone and Laptop (no Chromebook) are required.
- Microsoft Excel
- Must have personal protective equipment (PPE). Including, but not limited to: lace up steel toe boots with a defined ½” heel, hard hat, reflective safety vest, a fall resistor, and safety cones.
- Effective communication skills and ability to multi-task.
Compensation
The pay is production based. Rates will be provided upon resume submission.
