Responsibilities:
- Installing and repairing piping systems onboard ships and submarines
- Conduct periodic spot checks for quality assurance on finished products.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and configuration of piping systems.
- Assemble, fabricate, install, test ship piping systems, and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using various tools and equipment such as pipe cutters, threading machines, and pipe benders.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as welders, plumbers, and HVAC technicians to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in pipefitting techniques and materials.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of marine or industrial pipefitting experience.
- Need to be able to work with different piping systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on your own.
- Must pass 10-Panel drug screen.
