Service Superintendent
Wayne Automatic Fire Sprinklers is looking for an experienced Fire Sprinkler Service Superintendent in our Raleigh NCbranch.
This position reports to the Branch Manager and is responsible forcoordinating and directing the activities of Foremen and Fitters. Ensures each fire sprinkler system installation is completed on schedule and within budget.
Day to Day:
- To lead, teach and manage all field personnel assigned to the service department in the most cost-efficient manner as we fulfill our contractual obligations to the customers. The objective is to achieve results in both financial and productivity budgets while delivering customer service above and beyond their highest expectations.
- Studies the specifics of each job and based on expert knowledge, recommends hours required to complete the job, manpower, tools, equipment, and scheduling. Establishes financial and operational objectives for the service department.
- Confers with and directs supervisory personnel, contractors, and sub-contractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating service work to prevent delays.
- Confers and coordinates with the alarm department on projects and calls where we are contracted to provide both services.
- Confers with supervisors, designers, inspectors, foremen, technicians, and others to resolve service issues and improve service methods.
- Trains team members on proper installation methods, codes, job duties, and WAFS procedures.
- Visits job sites to inspect work in progress to ensure all work conforms to specifications and all service schedules are met. Visit each technician and inspector onsite at least once a month.
- Prepares or receives from team members, reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjusts work schedules accordingly.
- Reviews job costs and product quality and modifies procedures and programs to maintain and enhance a profitable department.
- Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within the limits of department and job budgets.
- Troubleshoots and resolves customer complaints promptly, ensuring customers are satisfied with the outcome.
- Interviewjob applicants and makehiring decisions. Enforces company rules and regulations, conducts disciplinary reviews, counsels and coaches team members, appraises performance, and recommends employment status and pay changes.
- Manages and works closely with house and national accounts including quotes, updates, and resolving all concerns.
- Attends training seminars and other training opportunities to remain abreast of industry requirements and trends.
- Represents the company positively and professionally.
- Performs all other related duties as required and/or assigned.
- Physical requirements include standing, sitting, bending, lifting, and climbing. Lifting will include up to 70 pounds.
What are the Qualifications for this position?
- 5 years of Fire SprinklerExperience
- Computer/software knowledge with Q360 and other apps/programs as introduced
- Excellent customer service skills
- Design and field experience is preferred, but not required.
- Travel within the local community is required.
- Must possess the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and a good communicator.
- Must be able to wear proper protective equipment as required on all job sites.
- Valid Drivers License and a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and pre-employment background check screening including 10 years of employment verification is required to be hired at Wayne Automatic.
