Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily operations of our apartment complex maintenance team. This role involves leading a team of technicians ensuring the smooth and timely turnover of apartments, capital project oversight, operation of machinery, systems, and facilities, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. You will be hands on with repairs and maintenance as well.
- Applicants MUST live within 20 minutes drive time of Clarendon Hills and have truck and tools. Position is hourly, $75K to start.
- Applicants must have 3-5 years of management experience and 5+ years of maintenance repair/servicing experience.
Pay is based upon experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train maintenance staff, scheduling work and overseeing daily tasks, evaluate performance.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for machinery, equipment, and facilities.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, prioritize repairs, and ensure all work complies with safety standards.
- Manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers, including landscape company on special projects.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs, inventory management, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, optimizing expenses.
- Respond promptly to after hour emergency maintenance calls, troubleshooting and resolving urgent issues. (Double pay for after hours)
- Work closely with property/office manager.
- Position reports directly to ownership.
Qualifications:
- Must have 3-5 years of experience in a management, leadership, and/or supervisory position.
- Must have 5+ years of experience as a maintenance repair/service technician or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and boiler systems.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Certification in relevant technical fields is preferred.
