Benefits: Full-time, defined as working an average of 40 hours per week, eligible for company benefits as defined in the company handbook.
Standard Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (hours may vary depending on scheduling demands). Must also be available for the on call rotation.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of standby generator systems 5 KW through 2000 KW
Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of firepump engines.
Following proper procedures for load bank testing
Troubleshooting and diagnosing emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls
Troubleshooting and diagnosing diesel industrial engines
Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics
Working independently with minimal daily supervision
Working in a safe manner at all times
Required experience and skills:
Minimum five years of experience in the back-up generator/firepump industry or a transferable industry
High School Education
CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, Detroit or MTU experience a plus
Ability to read, write and communicate in a professional manner
Knowledge of or ability to learn gas and diesel industrial engine fuel systems and controls
Knowledge of automatic transfer switches and control logic
Valid driver’s license required, with good driving record
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Overnight and some extended travel required
Available for the on call rotation schedule
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for prolonged period of time
Ability to remain seated for 15 minutes or more while driving
Ability to bend, squat, stand and reach as necessary
Experience driving in various weather conditions to perform job functions, towing and backing trailers
