Perform maintenance, new equipment startups, and new installations on all HVAC (heating, ventilation, & air conditioning) equipment, liquid chillers,
and refrigeration units (refrigerators, freezers, and ice makers) throughout the plant.
Work Performed:

Independently troubleshoot, and diagnose electronic, and mechanical malfunctions of HVAC Equipment. Including air conditioners, heaters, oil and
-
coolant chillers, air dryers, exhaust and supply air fans, refrigerators, freezers, and ice makers.

This position requires a universal E.P.A certification in order to perform service work on chillers and HVAC equipment. Also to purchase, add,
-
recover, and recycle refrigerant.

Electronic, and paper record keeping on all refrigerants.

This requires knowledge of refrigerant compliance manager software and includes purchase, use, and disposal according to E.P.A. regulations.

Troubleshooting HVAC equipment and chillers in all aspects including mechanical, electrical, and all electronic components. Such work may involve the use of a refrigerant gauge set, refrigerant scale, recovery machine, vacuum pump, flow hood, ammeter, voltmeter, meggers,

Technician must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams, logic trees, schematics, and manufacturers drawings.

Must be trained to work safely with voltages from 4 to 20 milliamps up to 600 volts ac.

Must have complete understanding of the refrigeration cycle for air conditioning and liquid chillers.

Install electronic controls, and microprocessors and set all parameters to manufacturers specifications.

Repairs to HVAC equipment must comply with E.P.A. regulations, ANSI, ASHRAE, and NEC (national electrical code).

Provide engineering support for all new installations of HVAC equipment and chillers.

Must be trained in novar software and hardware to include sensors, peripheral analog and digital controls and wiring in order to manipulate the control of all HVAC equipment.

Must have the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and replace all types of electric motors and compressors from 24 volt to 440 volt three phase AC and DC.

Use the necessary equipment to silver solder and braze copper, bronze, and steel fittings
Minimum Requirements
-
HVAC technician must be able to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions of more than 500 comfort and cabinet air conditioners, heaters, liquid chillers, air dryers, refrigerators, freezers, and icemakers throughout the plant.

Must have a complete understanding of the flow of liquid and air.
-
Understanding of the refrigerant flow through the various parts in all these units.

Must follow all E.P.A. regulations in regards to refrigerant.

Summary Pay Range:
$24.00 - $40.46
