Adecco is assisting a food service company with hiring an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to work in Sterling, Virginia. As an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial refrigeration systems that use ammonia as the refrigerant. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment, including boilers, hot water, domestic cold water, and compressed air systems.
- Perform planned maintenance on ammonia refrigeration and utility systems.
- Operate and maintain spiral freezers.
- Ensure material integrity of refrigeration and utility rooms in line with best practices.
- Conduct ammonia system pump downs for repairs and replacements of refrigeration parts.
- Complete documentation, including PSM-related changes, work orders, and operation notes.
- Automate and digitize maintenance, refrigeration, and ammonia records.
- Perform daily rounds and inspections of ammonia system temperatures and conditions.
- Conduct chemical tests on boilers and condenser towers.
- Adhere to all company policies, including safety, GMPs, and SOPs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance/Refrigeration Manager.
REQUIRMENTS:
- Minimum of 2 years of ammonia refrigeration experience in an industrial refrigeration environment and food manufacturing facility.
- Must pass a respirator fit test, pulmonary function test, and complete a 24-hour hazmat class.
- Ammonia Certification from GCAP or RETA is required.
- EPA Type II certification is required.
Salary: $45 to $55 per hour.
