Provide mechanical maintenance support to facilities & utilities for Rahway, New Jersey pharmaceutical research campus and headquarters for our company.
Support day-to-day preventative and corrective maintenance for assigned area(s) and may include technical input to mechanical utilities including HVAC, steam, water and/or other utilities.
Qualification/Requirements:
Experienced HVAC technician with working knowledge of mechanical operations and able to maintain, install, repair, and troubleshoot plant equipment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of heating and air conditioning systems, including rooftop equipment.
Repair, replace, or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring associated with HVAC systems.
Perform preventive maintenance and understand procedures for all HVAC equipment, including changing of filters and cleaning condensers and coils.
Ability to understand building/equipment management controls to be able to start, stop, seek status, or change conditions on HVAC systems.
Interpret equipment blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
Utilizes diagnostic equipment to assess malfunctions and determine needed repairs.
Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs HVAC units, chillers, and associated equipment.
Knowledges of program control wires and other related electrical equipment.
Wire and connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, and humidity controls according to wiring schematics.
Work cooperatively with others and independently with little direction.
Maintain routine records and prepare reports.
Education Minimum Requirement:
Required Experience and Skills:
4 years apprenticeship or 2-4 years of experience as an industrial HVAC mechanic with increasing levels of responsibility. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team is a must. Applicants must be familiar with all phases of industrial maintenance including:
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures to assemble, dismantle, and overhaul equipment using hand and power tools.
Knowledge of HVAC systems
Knowledge of building management systems
Knowledge of electrical circuits & wiring and operating principles of motors
Preferred Experience and Skills:
HVAC shop and machine tool operation experience.
Desire to learn and support in a dynamic, growth environment.
Familiarity with Building Automation Control Systems and Computerized Management Maintenance Systems.
Familiarity with cGMP for pharmaceutical manufacturing desired.
