SUMMARY OF DUTIES
To install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures while ensuring that the work is in accordance with relevant codes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
1. Operates and uses required tools and equipment skillfully and safely.
2. Troubleshoots electrical systems to locate and correct problems; installs and connects new systems including wiring, conduit, fuses, control systems, etc.
3. Assembles, installs, maintains and repairs electrical apparatuses.
4. Analyzes and responds safely and appropriately to emergency situations.
5. Performs preventative maintenance, as needed.
6. Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
7. Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
8. Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
9. Repairs or replaces wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
10. Places conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
11. Fastens small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.
12. Performs other related duties and tasks as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education equivalent to a High School diploma, to include the completion of a trade school apprenticeship program that includes theory and on-the-job work.
- Seven years of electrical project management and licensed/journey-level experience.
- Knowledge of electrical theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the electrical trade.
- Maintain a current Utah state journeyman electrical license.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery and equipment; safety precaution to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electronic and mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and regulations pertaining to the electrical trade.
- Ability to work under strict time constraints and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Ability to follow through on details and complete tasks with a minimum amount of direct supervision.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
