Job Title: Facilities Technician
Location: San Diego
Salary Range: $25.00 - $35.00
Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated Facilities Technician to join our large medical group, focusing on the maintenance, safety, and cleanliness of our facilities to support a high-quality patient care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building structures, adhering to safety standards.
- Move, assemble, and install medical and office equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
- Act as the first responder to facility-related emergencies, coordinating resolution with relevant teams.
- Conduct routine cleaning, inspections, and assessments of facilities and equipment, identifying and addressing maintenance needs.
- Carry out preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain detailed logs of activities.
- Follow safety guidelines, reporting hazards and compliance issues to the Facilities Manager.
- Assist in coordinating external vendors for specialized maintenance and repairs, monitoring their work.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, completing work orders and logs promptly.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and equipment instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with staff, vendors, and departments.
- Capability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.) and work in various physical environments.
- Availability for facility-related emergencies outside regular working hours.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of healthcare terminology and experience with medical records.
- Knowledge of prior authorization processes for medications and diagnostic tests.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise between healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance providers.
- Proficient in EHR systems, comfortable with technology and data entry.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive problem-solving skills to manage patient care needs.
Working Conditions: Full-time position with standard office hours, including some night and weekend work.
