Orbit Heating and Cooling is a locally-owned retrofit HVAC contractor out of North East Portland. Orbit is known for our best in class crew and quality work. The right candidate must have previous HVAC experience and/or schooling of at least a year. This role has a growth path to Install Lead and Orbit invests in our employees' skills and future. We offer field training with highly qualified install leads, and classroom training on the top HVAC equipment and technology. - You must be eager to pick up the trade and have extreme attention to detail.
- Certifications are a plus and will be compensated for. Hourly rate increases as certifications are added. The ideal candidate is interested in continuing to maintain and add certifications.

- You take pride in the quality of your work, which means never cutting corners, and always doing more than the bare minimum required.
- You have a positive attitude & inquisitive nature. While in training you will be taking daily direction and suggested improvements from the supervising Installer and other team members.
- You seek direction when needed and are comfortable being re-directed to another task at a moment’s notice throughout the day. You can self-direct through tasks you have been trained on.
Ideal Candidate Must:
- Be capable and comfortable maintaining records and using HVAC apps in the field.
- Able to learn to calculate and read gauges and feel comfortable mastering new math skills.
- Show up on time and be reliable, have excellent time management skills and the hustle and focus to get the job done on time. Each day will start at 7 am.
- Own and maintain your own hand tools. We do have a tool program.
- Be able to work in dark spaces, attics, crawlspaces, tight areas, high up on ladders and on rooftops, and other hard to negotiate spaces.
- Be able to meet physical requirements including bending, lifting heavy equipment. (75lbs minimum).
- Have proof of a current valid driver's license, have a clean driving record, must be insurable and able to drive our fleet vehicles.
- Adhere to our rule of no smoking or vaping on company property, in any company vehicle, or on job sites. We reserve the right to drug test.
