Position: Pipefitter/Plumber (2nd shift)
Location: Mebane, NC
Job info: $40.05/hour; 5% 401k match
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours, including paid lunch breaks); Overtime available (Time and a half paid for hours worked over 8 in a day; double time paid after 12 hours worked in a day)
Job Description: As a Pipefitter/Plumber, you will play a crucial role in installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing our facility’s water, compressed air, steam, hot and chilled water delivery, and drain systems. You’ll work with cutting-edge tools and equipment to ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
What You’ll Do:
- Plan, layout, install, test, and repair pipes of all sizes, adhering to industry standards and codes.
- Use an array of hand and power tools to fit and install pipes, valves, couplings, and other fittings.
- Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and equipment, ensuring peak performance.
- Remove/repair/replace pipes as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to tackle complex pneumatic systems, including regulators and solenoid valves.
- Be on call 24/7 to handle any urgent repairs or installations, ensuring our facility remains operational.
What We're Looking For:
- A minimum of five years in Pipefitting/Plumbing work, including complex pneumatic diagrams.
- Experience with high speed equipment, including regulators, cylinders, solenoid valves, tubing (standard and metric).
- Experience with pump applications involving glue, waste, water, hydraulic and vacuum systems
- Experience with air washers, spray nozzles, strainer and heat exchanger cleaning.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, perform precision pipe welds, and operate various equipment.
- Ability to push, pull and/or lift at least 50 lbs. with or without accommodation and work in confined spaces, including stooping, crouching, crawling and kneeling as needed. Standing/walking for extended periods of time as needed.
- Willingness to work any shift and potentially on weekends or holidays.
- Willingness to be on call for emergencies.
