Local Electrical company currently looking for Licensed Journeyman Electricians. The Licensed Journeyman Electrician’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, complying fully with all Company and client safety guidelines and procedures (i.e., wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, etc.), completing assigned scope work safely and within a timely manner, and ensuring that all functions of individual components meet client specifications. Other job duties include:
- Remove electrical components, install electrical cables, and install cable into the cable glands
- Plan and install electrical raceways
- Perform terminations of all types, including branch circuit terminations and medium voltage terminations
- Read blueprints, schematics and functional drawings
- Identify and correct function problems on equipment (troubleshooting)
- Lead helpers on small tasks
- Perform a material takeoff of tasks/projects as well as complete a layout of work
- Complete necessary documentation in a timely manner
- Adhere to and help uphold the Company’s quality and safety standards, such as lock out, tag out, etc.
- Able to work away from home for extended lengths of time
- Able to work extended, overtime hours, including evenings/nights, weekends and some holidays
Physical Requirements include:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
- Constantly positions self to perform scope work, which may include hard-to-reach and low-lying areas, confined spaces, heights of 100 feet, etc.
- Frequently moves material, tools and/or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. and up to 25-35 lbs. overhead
- Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions (may be exposed to extreme heat or cold, etc.)
- Exposed to dust and debris (will wear a respirator, if needed)
- Constantly operate/use necessary tools, equipment and/or methods to complete assigned work
- Frequently ascends/descends stairs, ramps, ladders, etc.
The summarized qualifications for this role are:
- TWIC Required
- Must be a licensed Journeyman/Master Electrician, preferably through TDLR, or other reciprocal state, such as NCCER
- Working knowledge of NEC code and industrial work inclusive of civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation
- 2+ years of supervisory/lead experience is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in reading construction drawings and specifications, understanding of 1 phase and 3 phase circuits, and necessary technical skills of MCCs, Switchgear, transformers, panel boards and power distribution
- Able to understand all materials and tools needed to complete a task/project and where to install mounting devices
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Must be dependable and able to work as a team to carry out assigned tasks
- Capable of meeting deadlines and operating within budget and with a sense of urgency
