Salary: $120,000 to $150,000 annual depending on experience
Area: All of DFW Metroplex
Job Overview:
The HVAC Service and Business Development Manager primary responsibilities include increasing commercial HVAC sales growth, promotional activities, employee and customer training, as well as, quoting systems and design. An understanding that partnering with sales management, technicians, suppliers and H&G staff to call on and provide excellent support will maximize the program promotion and drive sales. This position will drive the day-to-day management of all service technicians, training, development, service fleet management, growth and profitability of our commercial HVAC service group.
H&G Systems HVAC Services Division provides services, consisting of, but not limited to: Preventative maintenance and repair (or replacement) of HVAC equipment, boilers, pneumatic controls, DDC controls, electrical controls, boiler controls, pumps, refrigeration, air conditioning, softeners, and service plumbing.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent leadership by building and providing a culture of excellence while overseeing and leading a team of HVAC technicians ensuring a high level of quality and service. Provide mentorship and training to team members to enhance their skills and contribute to their professional development.
- Work with and assist the service coordinator to identify, organize and coordinate all HVAC Services Division workload, including scheduling and prioritizing of manpower and materials as required to meet committed completion schedules and profitability of work performed, based on the capabilities of available technicians, the known or expected complexity of the perceived work, and the planned and/or promised completion time/date.
- Recruit and hire capable field technicians.
- Manage the training/development effort for the Service Department.
- Develop and implement growth measures to increase sales volume and profitability, including promotion and sales of HVAC service capabilities to potential customers, with preventative maintenance and progressive time agreements.
- Prepare and assist with estimates for equipment, materials, projects, and services and develop proposals for presentation to customers, based on preliminary site review and analysis of project with customer, often involving cost effectiveness or return on investment calculations. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposal and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for products, projects and/or services.
- Review and manage ongoing job cost accounting to allow timely reviews of effectiveness and profitability of all work performed.
- Establish Service "On-Call" schedule and dispatching emergency service.
- Support Service Technicians needs and provide technical assistance as required.
- Properly communicate customer issues with appropriate company personnel and suppliers.
- Communicates routinely with all stakeholders to maximize sales opportunities.
- Supports and adheres to company policies and procedures, most especially those commonly challenged in the workplace such as dress code, attendance, professionalism, and productivity. Seeks supervisor and HR partnerships in addressing issues as needed. Approaches all employment matters with a solution oriented, professional, and legally compliant mindset.
- Review and approve all personnel timesheets. Monitor field reports/tickets for accuracy.
- Coordinate inventories, including HVAC Services vehicle fleet.
- Provide annual performance appraisals and salary reviews jointly with VP Service.
- Monitor the quality of the service provided through regular jobsite visits.
- Conduct post service follow-ups with customers to ensure all sales agreements have been accomplished and customers are satisfied with all aspects of the transaction.
- Strives to achieve company objectives for new account sales.
- Assists in preparation of and execution of annual company sales plan.
- Utilizes sound business judgement and recommends realistic solutions to customer problems.
- Anticipates and demonstrates proactive action to minimize potential problems.
- Responds with a sense of urgency when confronted with critical customer service issues.
- Safeguards the release of proprietary information, company documents and other confidential information and data.
- Manage and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction and provide solutions for performance enhancement and proactive resolution of issues to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Become involved in industry trade associations.
- After hours or weekend travel could be required.

Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Professional and industry-specific certifications and licenses.
Experience:
- Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in Mechanical Services, Temperature Controls, HVAC, and /or facilities management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop, lead, and manage a team of HVAC technicians.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, tactful, organized, results and goal-oriented professional.
- Driven by a desire to satisfy customers and provide a high level of customer service.
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, equipment, and procedures.
- Must follow-up in a timely manner; deliver on commitments internal and external.
- Ability to communicate value and sell service & equipment. Capable of successfully closing the sale and providing follow-up to assure strong customer relationships.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and operate business equipment.
- Must possess prioritizing / organizational / multitasking and stress management skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and MVR.
