Job Summary– General Manager- The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facilities operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences, efficient management, and overall profitability. This role involves strategic planning, staff management, financial oversight, and maintaining high standards of service and facilities.
Responsibilities Includes:
- Develops a comprehensive facility operation manual with policies and procedures for all services, administration, and maintenance.
- Creates weekly, monthly, and yearly management reports outlining key statistics and daily operations, highlighting concerns and recommending changes.
- Oversee facility maintenance and presentation for high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Create and execute strategic business plans to meet sales, revenue, and profitability targets.
- Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies, promotions, and events to attract and retain guests.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets to meet financial goals.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Implement cost control measures and maximize operational efficiencies.
- Prepare/submit regular reports on operational and financial performance for senior management.
- Recruits key personnel for various departments and ensures staff is knowledgeable through regular meetings and training workshops.
- Ensures appropriate supervisory coverage with a Manager on Duty (MOD) system and efficient scheduling to stay within budget.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and development
- Ensure proper staffing levels and scheduling.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Delivers excellent customer service, monitors guest feedback, and follows up on requests and comments.
- Ensures facility access is restricted to members and guests and maintains a safe and secure environment.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations.
- Attend management meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Leisure or Business Management or a related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of management experience in a large facility
- Prior experience in Operational, Food & Beverage, and/or Aquatics Management preferred.
- Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. (Shifts will vary)
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Efficient, organized, with a strong work ethic and multitasking ability
- Industry-related certifications highly desirable
- Professional demeanor, discretion, and appearance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with relevant computer skills and office equipment
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics to prevent injury
- Ability to work in all weather conditions for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform various tasks
