This is a wonderful opportunity on our evening shift. As an HVAC Temperature Controls Technician I, you’ll play an essential role in inspecting, repairing and maintaining all mechanical equipment at our main campus and ensuring the HVAC systems run efficiently and safely. In this role, you will change belts, perform preventive maintenance, test control and more.

Responsibilities:
- Performs maintenance on equipment and systems such as chiller systems, reheat systems, variable frequency drives (VFD), air handling units (AHU), humidifiers, dampers, heating and cooling coils, cooling towers and Pumps throughout the facility.
- Documents and maintains records of inspections and work performed pursuant to departmental polices and warranty/vendor requirements.
- Maintains inventory and records for sensor and control devices related to digital and pneumatic systems.
- Receives and responds to work orders from the computerized maintenance management system.
- Ensures safe and effective operations and working environment.
- Work may occasionally be assigned across multiple Cleveland Clinic locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Certifications:
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
Complexity of Work:
- Ability to work safely with hand and power tools.
- Basic math skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Work Experience
- 1 year of experience with mechanical repairs such as auto mechanics, motor cycle repair, or apartment/ hotel / building maintenance.
- Military experience such as Utilities mate (UT), Machinists Mate (MM), HVAC/R (3E1X1), Utilities Equipment Repairer (91C), Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, & Refrigeration (3E1X1) or similar will be considered.
Physical Requirements:
- Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching and climbing ladders.
- Requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery.
- Typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 lbs. and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs.
- Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguish color-coded signage and systems.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work at heights and on ladders.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
