Primary Job Function:
The Residential Installer's role is to properly install home comfort systems into homes and buildings within the guidelines of the company and manufacturer.
Essential Duties:
- Perform installation of HVAC-related equipment following company policies and manufacturer’s specifications.
- Carry out wiring of both low and line voltage to cooling and heating equipment.
- Perform installation of copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering.
- Perform installation of flex and sheet metal duct systems in retail commercial and residential buildings.
- Ensure connection of gas lines to heating equipment is properly done.
- Confirm receipt of all materials and equipment required for each job and load them into company vehicle.
- Exceeding all customer expectations for services provided.
- Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time as instructed by management.
- Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with both superiors and co-workers.
- Ensure all applicable paperwork for each job is accurately filled out.
- Carry out readings on machine with the full understanding of the implication of such readings.
- Ensure assigned company vehicle is kept clean and in good working order.
- Perform any other duty that may be directed by management.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 3+ years of HVAC installation experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service skills
- Honest and dependable personality
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to distinguish between various HVAC equipment
- Self-motivated with strong ability to follow instructions and work alone, as well as work effectively with a team
- Ability to display professional company image
- Possession of valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
- Ability to pass a background check for criminality
- Strong ability to write and read in English language
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and ability to use all hand and/or power tools associated with the type of work being performed
- Ability to work on weekends, at night, and to work overtime during peak seasons
- Basic math skills
- EPA certification
- NATE certification preferred
Physical and Mental Demands
- Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Reach with hands and arms, and balance.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Lifts, pushes, and pulls up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
- Move equipment weighing several hundred pounds, with mechanical and human assistance.
- Works with substances commonly encountered in the HVAC profession.
- Climbs stairs and ladders on a regular basis.
- Works both indoors and outdoors, in temperature extremes, on a daily basis.
- Works in awkward and sometimes confined spaces, including crawl spaces and heights, requiring flexibility and full range of motion in limbs, head, neck, and torso.
- Maintains high safety standards at all times.
- Must be open to change in systems, people, priorities, and schedules.
Working Conditions:
Primarily on job sites and in shop. Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions with extreme cold and extreme heat.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
