Job Purpose
Responsibilities include:
Ensure all facilities comply with healthcare regulations, including environment of care standards and safety protocols.
Plan, organize, and direct overall maintenance operation of the hospital facilities.
Work orders and preventative maintenance services are completed timely and successfully in the maintenance and Biomed departments.
Oversee the maintenance, operation, and improvement of all hospital buildings and grounds.
Develop and implement strategic plans for facility upgrades and expansions, including budget management and scheduling.
Manage a team of facilities staff, including maintenance, landscaping, and bio-medical personnel.
Provide training and professional development opportunities.
Implement continuous improvement measures to enhance the efficiency and quality of facility services.
Contract/Contractor Management:
Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers.
Liaison with contractors for safe and prompt implementation of maintenance and construction projects.
Emergency Management:
Collaborate with the Emergency Management Coordinator to ensure facilities are prepared for all types of emergencies, including infrastructure resilience measures.
Maintains compliance with ACHC and CARF accreditation. Works with other departments to keep the facility in good standing for accreditation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide daily direction to staff to ensure safe and efficient facilities operations and in compliance with applicable regulatory and safety guidelines and accreditation standards while supporting service excellence.

Manages building operations and preventative and corrective maintenance, plans and operations, furniture and equipment inventories, utility operations, energy management, and grounds maintenance.

Function as liaison for all construction vendors, facilities vendors with collecting quotes, seeking approval for purchase requests to ensure service agreements are met and in compliance with procedures and budgets.

Oversee and manage all on-site inspections, assisting inspectors and surveyors in the performance of their duties; provide reports as needed in follow-up to surveys, inspections and audits.

Serve on all relevant hospital committees as needed and requested.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors Degree (Facility Management or Engineering preferred)
Experience:
5+ years of facility experience in healthcare experience preferred.
3+ years of leadership experience preferred
License/Certification/Credential:
State license as contractor or journeyman in electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC preferred. Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager certification is desired. Member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers.
