Michiana Veterans Hood Vent Cleaning is seeking an experienced Hood Vent Cleaning Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in commercial kitchen hood and exhaust system cleaning, along with a thorough understanding of safety protocols. This position requires certification through the NFPA 96 exam to ensure compliance with fire codes and regulations related to kitchen ventilation systems.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning of kitchen hood vents, ductwork, and exhaust systems in accordance with NFPA 96 standards.

Inspect and assess vent systems for grease buildup and fire hazards.

Safely disassemble and reassemble hood systems for thorough cleaning.

Use cleaning tools, power washers, and chemicals to remove grease and debris.

Perform maintenance and minor repairs on ventilation systems as needed.

Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Communicate effectively with clients and provide exceptional customer service.

Maintain accurate records of services performed and report any issues to management.

Requirements:

NFPA 96 certification or successful completion of the NFPA 96 exam (proof of passing required).

Minimum of 2 years of experience in hood vent cleaning or a related field.

Strong understanding of commercial kitchen ventilation systems and safety protocols.

Ability to work in confined spaces and handle heavy-duty cleaning equipment.

Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems related to ventilation systems is a plus.

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
