Purchasing & Warehouse Manager

As a Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for warehouse goods & services, sourcing equipment, and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers.

Responsibilities

Helping assure that the company generates the budgeted gross margin by purchasing equipment and parts at the lowest prices.
Making sure that equipment costs on the financial statement are 25% of sales or less for commercial, 12% of sales or less for service plumbing & 28% or less for total HVAC material.
Making sure that all purchases have a purchase order and are properly marked as to which department they should be charged to.
Arranging for efficient deliveries of parts and equipment to installers and technicians. An installer or technician should go to a supply house only as a last resort. Work closely with dispatch and operations manager, make every possible effort to keep them on the job working and not picking up parts.
Replenishing truck stock using the truck replenishment reports. Do not have technicians or installers make unnecessary trips for stocking, but instead, plan it around their dispatch schedule.
Tracking, maintaining, servicing, and distributing all company owned tools within all departments.
Manage all fleet maintenance including vehicles and machinery. Regular maintenance & repairs as needed while coordinating with department managers and maintenance team.
Maintain accurate inventory counts and update Hilti inventory system.
Counting serialized equipment on the last day of each month, and report results to the Director of Service Operations.
Processing all warranty parts and warranty labor credits quickly. Following through to make sure that the company receives the credit quickly. · Keeping warehouse area neat and clean
Managing all warehouse associates and coordinators.
Perform standard building maintenance on the corporate offices.
Obey the company Code of Ethics and the Team Rules.

Skills

Proven working experience as purchasing manager, agent or officer
Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
A knack for negotiation and networking
Working experience of vendor management software
Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
Solid judgement along with decision making skills
Strong leadership capabilities
Forklift operating skills preferred

Working Environment

Work both indoors and outdoors; could be exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures
Will be in proximity to hazardous conditions, equipment, and situations
Must be able to work with sharp tools and electricity that could potentially produce cuts or burns
Wear safety attire often, such as goggles or other protective clothing
Could be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are uncomfortable and distracting
Will be exposed to very bright or inadequate lighting conditions
Ability to climb ladders and work from roofs and scaffolding
Will work around exposed contaminants
Must be able to work in cramped workplaces, such as crawl spaces under floors
